Sad times

Our kitty, Sassy, was euthanized yesterday. She was 14 years old, and declined in health rapidly over about 5 days. It's like she was okay one day, and dying the next. A bit of a shock, but not so much when you think about how old she was.

If you are in Denver, please consider making a donation, or adopting a pet from the Denver Dumb Friends League. That's where we got Sassy, 12 years ago, and that's where she was put down yesterday. The people there are so kind--I can't say enough about them.

This is the first time in 16 years that I have not had a kitty in the house. It feels strangely empty, even with two dogs.

Amy, I am so sorry to hear about Sassy. Twelve is a long time for a cat and she gave you a lot during that time. There is no way to express how sorry I am for your loss. I'll send you energy, it's all I know to do.

  2. I'm so sorry about your kitty. It's so hard to have a pet die. Let yourself feel the sadness and with the fullness of time, the sadness will lessen.
